About Buck

Richard "Buck" Wimberly is a multi-disciplinary creative leader who helps organizations uncover what makes them meaningful — and express it through thoughtful strategy, design, storytelling, and human-centered experiences.

Based in Kansas City, Buck has spent more than 25 years helping organizations navigate growth, innovation, and change through strategy, design, and creative leadership. While the contexts have varied, the work has always centered on the same belief: meaningful brands, products, and experiences begin with a genuine understanding of people.

The Questions That Guide My Work

I've always been fascinated by what makes people connect — with ideas, with places, with one another, and with a sense of purpose.

Over the years, that curiosity has taken me through corporate innovation, entrepreneurship, retail, spatial design, creative direction, and brand strategy. While the work has changed, the questions have remained remarkably consistent:

Who are we? Why do we matter? And how do we express that authentically?

I've found those questions to be just as relevant for a global organization as they are for a startup, a creative team, or an individual looking for clarity.

Whether shaping a brand, crafting an experience, designing products, or facilitating conversations around purpose and direction, I believe the strongest ideas emerge by uncovering what is already authentic and expressing it with clarity, intention, and care.

Today, my work brings together human insight, strategy, storytelling, and creative leadership to help organizations navigate growth, align around a shared vision, and create experiences that people trust because they feel genuinely human.

A Little More Human

Outside of work, I'm a partner, a dad, an artist, and someone who's endlessly curious about people and what gives life meaning.

You'll usually find me exploring nature, making music, discovering thoughtfully designed spaces, sharing a great meal with people I love, or deep in conversation about creativity, purpose, and the human experience.

I believe our work and our lives aren't really separate. The same curiosity that shapes my approach to creative leadership also shapes how I move through the world — with empathy, wonder, and a genuine desire to help people feel more connected to themselves, to one another, and to the world around them.
